Eden Hall Foundation supports a broad range of educational initiatives at privately funded institutions throughout western Pennsylvania. More than a dozen area colleges receive grants for capital programs and other higher education activities.
Recently, the Foundation has supported initiatives directed not only toward inner-city youth but also at students in suburban school districts.
Among the most innovative programs are outreach efforts at the National Aviary and the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium. Both give students one-on-one exposure to wildlife, while honing their skills in math, science and literature. Other collaborative programs provide after-school activities and introduce children to the pleasure of books and the wonder of our three rivers.
Minority students, including those in four-year colleges, benefit through gifts to various scholarship organizations.
