Dear learners, educators, leaders, and families:

You have so much to be proud of. Your diligence and dedication have led to a strong start, and now, as we approach the fall and winter breaks, it's time to appreciate your journey thus far and look to the excitement on the road ahead.

November is often the first extended break where students and educators find a moment to catch their breath, connect with others, explore new interests and embrace well-deserved relaxation. While you may still see a mountain to climb, reflect on these past few months and acknowledge what you’ve accomplished.

Did you know that studies show you are more likely to achieve your goals just by writing them down? It is true: Expressing and recording your goals and progress can reinforce their importance. What was the biggest challenge that you’ve overcome at this point in the academic year? What do you want to achieve in the coming months, especially with 2025 approaching? Write about your progress or share your accomplishments with friends, family or teachers. Remember, every step you take, no matter how small, brings you closer to your goals. Keep believing in yourselves and pushing the boundaries of what you can achieve.

Students, while the holidays may provide a break from the classroom, learning continues to surround you during the holidays. Baking holiday treats presents opportunities for math calculations and critical thinking; holiday celebrations invite conversations about history, culture, and traditions, and time from school opens doors to visit cultural institutions like museums and libraries. The holidays present an opportune time for social and emotional learning as you engage with friends, family, and community members at community gatherings and events, such as Light-Up Night.

Educators, your passion and commitment shape the minds of the future. Take this time to nourish your passions so you can return refreshed, energized, and ready to inspire.

Eden Hall Foundation is grateful to our region’s students and educators for always showing up to learn. Because of you, the world never stops learning.

Best regards,

Sylvia Fields
